Gene-Biocon Recombinant Protein A is a structurally engineered variant of native Protein A from Staphylococcus aureus. It is assembled from four tandem Fc-binding domain fragments. The prepared Protein A affinity chromatography resin features high binding capacity and relatively good alkali resistance.Protein A affinity chromatography resin can isolate and purify various subtypes of antibodies from different mammalian species, as well as recombinant proteins containing antibody Fc fragments, from ascites, serum, cell culture supernatant or cell lysates. Gene-Biocon Recombinant Protein Apossesses a cysteine residue at its C-terminus, which enhances oriented covalent coupling to the gel matrix. Protein A affinity chromatography resins prepared with this product are resistant to 1M NaOH during Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures.
